On the Fatherhood Crisis

On the Fatherhood Crisis

Family values have seen a lot of pushbacks in the last years.

Media seems to be against men, against fathers, and against husbands.

There are 3 major obstacles that we need to tackle in the next years to change the fatherhood crisis:

  • Absent Providers
  • Weakened Leadership
  • Adult Boyhood

The Absent Provider

This is a major issue to me.

How many hours does a father have with his family per week?

They are so little, because men need to go away from their families to provide.

The job including travel and break times is taking many about 50 hours per week.

I’m not saying that we shouldn’t work.

That’s why I believe we need to become Present Providers.

We should make our family part of what we do.

Let them assist.

The Second Thing

We need to step up as leaders of our family.

We need to fight back the rules of society to weaken the leadership of us in our family.

We should be able to make decisions for our family.

The Third Point

Boy development.

Many boys have a hard time becoming men.

A big part we have gaming now that is distracting boys from filling up responsibility.

I did also play many online games in youth. In the end, it is moving pixels around, but it doesn’t create any impact on this world.

It is a simulation of what we ought to do.

We simulate collecting firewood, but we don’t know how to use an axe.

Men need to create an impact – not just move pixels.

These 3 challenges are the obstacles we face for the next years.

Let’s step up and fix them.
